| Denise lives in a pretty, tree-shaded house in Rosemere, Quebec. She attributes her interest in art to her father, a man whose memory she reveres and who passed on his love of painting to her. For many years this passion lay dormant within her. Then on one fateful visit to the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, she fell spellbound by the multi-faceted themes, the play on light and the deft use of perspective so wonderfully displayed by the Dutch Masters. The experience was a life-changing event for her and upon returning home, Denise decided to take up oil painting. | ![]() |
Over the years, Denise has painted dozens of canvasses, honing her craft along the way and emerging as a gifted painter. She has evolved a unique style that is clearly identifiable to her many fans, of which I count myself one. Her latest canvases, a series of studies of various sun-drenched European dwellings, show a clean, minimalist, and cubistic influence that evokes a rather intriguing mix of peacefulness and desolation in the viewer. In the last three years, Denise has turned her artistic eye to stained glass,
producing a whole panoply of forms, from sun catchers to uniquely designed
lamps that bathe a room in a warm, campfire-like glow. Jose Nunez |
